Project Description

What is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy?

“The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude about the problem” – Captain Jack Sparrow.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a present-oriented psychotherapy directed toward solving current problems and teaching clients skills to modify dysfunctional thinking and behavior. CBT’s premise is that individuals perception of a situation is more connected to their reaction than the situation itself. It helps clients with unhelpful thinking styles which affect our feelings and behaviour. As a result this helps to improve mood and functioning.
